Potential hazard assessment of 6PPD-quinone in the context of ulcerative colitis: network toxicology, machine learning, transcriptomic analysis, and preliminary In vivo validation
Abstract Background: The ubiquitous tire-derived pollutant 6PPD-quinone (6PPD-Q) poses potential systemic health risks, yet its toxicological impact on the intestinal tract, particularly in the context of ulcerative colitis (UC), remains largely unknown. This study aimed to investigate whether 6PPD-Q aggravates DSS-induced colitis and to identify candidate molecular events using integrative computational and experimental approaches.
Calcium-tolerant electrode strategy for efficient hydrogen peroxide electrosynthesis in natural water
Abstract Calcium scaling is traditionally regarded as a major impediment to the practical application of decentralized H2O2 electrosynthesis via two-electron oxygen reduction reaction (2e− ORR). Herein, we demonstrate that the calcium scale unexpectedly enhances H2O2 electroproduction. Dissolved Ca2+, rather than precipitated scale, is the dominant factor suppressing H2O2 electrosynthesis.
