1 Introduction OSCC originates from the squamous epithelial cells of the oral cavity and arises in various sites, including the gums, hard palate, tongue, buccal mucosa, lips, and adjoining structures. It represents the most common form of oral cancer, accounting for over 90% of cases globally (1). In 2022, oral cavity cancers—including OSCC—accounted for approximately 188,438 deaths worldwide and an estimated total of 380,000 new cases, as reported by GLOBOCAN (2, 3).
