Introduction CM is a subacute or chronic meningoencephalitis caused by Cryptococcus species, and represents the most severe and frequent clinical manifestation of disseminated cryptococcal infection. Global surveillance estimates an annual incidence of approximately 250,000 cases, with over 181,000 associated deaths, highlighting its substantial global health burden (1). As an opportunistic pathogen, Cryptococcus poses a significant risk to immunocompromised individuals.
