Flow diversion versus conventional endovascular treatment for ruptured basilar artery dissecting aneurysms: a single-center cohort study
Abstract Background: Ruptured basilar artery dissecting aneurysms (BADAs) are rare and associated with high risks of rebleeding, brainstem ischemia, and death. Evidence specific to the basilar artery remains limited, and experience derived from vertebral artery dissections may not be directly transferable because the basilar trunk supplies numerous critical pontine perforators and generally cannot be sacrificed.

Abstract Objective This study aimed to examine the effect of drug-coated balloons (DCBs) on vascular luminal dilatational remodeling (VLDR) following simple balloon angioplasty. Methods A retrospective cohort study was conducted using data from patients diagnosed with intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS), who were treated exclusively with balloon angioplasty at Henan Provincial People’s Hospital between June 2019 and April 2023.

Introduction Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is one of the most typical presentations of cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). Hemorrhagic stroke caused by ICH is linked to mortality and long-term neurological impairment (1). The overall annual risk of rupture in all types of AVMs in previous studies was 2–4% (2, 3), typically affecting the younger population (4). The current treatment therapies for AVMs include endovascular and surgical treatments.
