A novel polyetherimide hydrogel proton exchange membrane Here, we reported a novel rapidly-formed hydrogel membrane which crosslinked by polyetherimide and polyethyleneimine within 10s. The polyetherimide as backbone provided rigidity of the hydrogel membrane, the polyethyleneimine as crosslinker provided the hydrophilicity. The mechanical strength and electrical performance of the hydrogel membranes can be finely regulated by adjusting the ratio of the two polymers.
