1. Introduction Chronic pruritus is characterized by itching persisting for more than 6 weeks and its prevalence is approximately 13.5% among the adult population, with the highest occurrence observed among elderly individuals [1]. The clinical evaluation in patients with chronic pruritus includes a thorough medical history and a physical examination to elicit potential causes. Initial investigations include a complete blood count, hepatic, renal, and thyroid function tests, and a chest radiograph.
