HEP14-activated PKC-ERK1/2 pathway boosts HEP14-empowered hADSCs for ovarian regeneration and functional restoration - Communications Biology
Abstract Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) and age-related natural-aging ovarian insufficiency (ARNA-OI) pose pressing global health challenges, necessitating effective therapeutic strategies and a deep understanding of their underlying mechanisms. This study investigates how HEP14, a PKC pathway activator, boosts the regenerative potential of human adipose-derived stem cells (hADSCs) for ovarian regeneration.
HEP14 treatment improves ovarian function in aged mice through mitophagy enhancement and oxidative stress reduction - Communications Biology
Abstract Ovarian aging profoundly impacts reproductive health and accelerates the overall aging process, yet the development of effective therapeutic strategies remains a formidable challenge. In this study, we report the rejuvenating effects of HEP14, a natural activator of protein kinase C (PKC) pathway, on aged ovarian function by inducing mitophagy and effectively clearing reactive oxygen species.
A microengineered 3D human neurovascular unit model to probe the neuropathogenesis of herpes simplex encephalitis - Nature Communications
Abstract Herpes simplex encephalitis (HSE) caused by HSV-1 is the most common non-epidemic viral encephalitis, and the neuropathogenesis of HSE remains elusive. This work describes a 3D human neurovascular unit (NVU) model that allows to explore the neuropathogenesis of HSE in vitro. This model is established by co-culturing human microvascular endothelial cells, astrocytes, microglia and neurons on a multi-compartment chip.
