It isn't easy to stay calm when you or your loved ones are suffering and not getting the care you need. But that does not justify treating us with abuse. Article content I am a former medical assistant at a clinic in Ottawa, where I experienced an astonishing level of rude and disrespectful treatment from patients and their families. I have been yelled at, insulted and physically intimidated.
