In Situ Mössbauer Spectroscopy Confirms Fluoroethylene Carbonate Stabilizes Fe4+ in Charged NaFeO2 Development of Fe-based materials for energy storage are hindered by difficutilies to understand of Fe-ions redox. Here we demonstrate in situ Mössbauer spectroscopy to monitor dynamics Fe⁴⁺ in charged NaFeO2 without dissembling the cell. This allows direct confirmation that a fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC) additive stabilizes the otherwise fast degrading Fe⁴⁺.
