Abstract Accurate identification and visualization of peritoneal metastases (PM) are clinically essential to improving the prognosis for gastric cancer. However, owing to the multifocal spread of peritoneal metastasis nodules, small size, and close contact with adjacent organs, identifying and completely removing them during surgery is extremely challenging, resulting in cancer treatment failure and recurrence.

Ferroptosis: A Novel Type of Cell Death in Male Reproduction

1. Introduction It is known that cell death is classified as accidental cell death (ACD) or regulated cell death (RCD) [1]. Distinguished from ACD caused by an exposure to severe physical, chemical, or mechanical damage, the latter is capable of being regulated pharmacologically or genetically. RCD was mainly studied in three categories—apoptosis, autophagy, and necrosis—before ferroptosis was officially proposed and became a research hotspot.
