D-mannose blocks S-adenosylmethionine generation to suppress macrophage IL-1β expression
Abstract Background and aims: Inflammatory stimuli drive metabolic reprogramming in macrophages, supplying energy, reducing equivalents, and methyl donors required for the production of inflammatory mediators such as IL-1β; however, metabolic strategies to regulate this pathway remain unclear. Here, we aimed to define the mechanism by which D-mannose suppresses one-carbon metabolism in inflammatory macrophages and thereby epigenetically restrains inflammatory responses.
Hydrodynamic Changes in Scaly-Sided Mergansers' Habitats Due to Dam Height Variations and Their Impact on Fish Potential Distribution
1 Introduction Small dams are abundant and widely distributed across mountainous regions. Hydropower, as a renewable energy source, has gained favour among many countries and investors, leading to rapid development (Dursun and Gokcol 2011; Nautiyal et al. 2011). However, its ecological consequences are well-documented.
An underwater image dataset for occlusion-aware fish instance segmentation - Scientific Data
Abstract Underwater visual perception of fish is a core technology in intelligent aquaculture systems. However, occlusion caused by overlapping fish remains a major obstacle to achieving accurate instance segmentation. Robust segmentation under such conditions requires large-scale datasets with both morphological diversity and pixel-level annotations.
Climate Change and Topography Drive the Expansion of Betula ermanii in the Alpine Treeline Ecotone of the Changbai Mountain
1 Introduction The alpine treeline is the distribution boundary between closed forests and high mountain vegetation, and serves as a sensitive indicator of the impacts of climate change on forest ecosystems (Lu et al. 2021). Treeline trees have expanded to higher elevations in response to climate change, causing upward shifts of alpine treelines worldwide (Devi et al. 2020; He et al. 2023; Sigdel et al. 2024).

The effect of the Litcubanine A on the treatment of murine experimental periodontitis by inhibiting monocyte-macrophage chemotaxis and osteoclast differentiation - Chen - Journal of Periodontal Research - Wiley Online Library
ORIGINAL ARTICLE Sheng Lin, Lijia Guo and Yi Liu are co-corresponding authors and have contributed equally to the work. Abstract Background Periodontal disease is an inflammatory disease of periodontal tissues that is closely connected with systemic diseases. During periodontitis, the inappropriate recruitment and activation of monocytes–macrophages causes an increase in osteoclast activity and disrupts bone homeostasis.
An FSFS-Net Method for Occluded and Aggregated Fish Segmentation from Fish School Feeding Images
4.4. Ablation Study To further verify our contributions, we conducted an extensive ablation study on the fish feeding test dataset. We took the basic U-Net network as the baseline, and gradually designed the strategies in this paper, such as loss function, PSPA, LMSM, and deep supervision. Our experiments demonstrated that increasing LMSM and SPSA further improved the score over the baseline model.

Fermented ginseng attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory responses by activating the TLR4/MAPK signaling pathway and remediating gut
Fermented ginseng attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory responses by activating the TLR4/MAPK signaling pathway and remediating gut Jing Jing Fan, Sitong Liu, Yingyi Chen, Zhiyi Ai, Yonghong Wang, Youbao Liu, Xia Li, Shengyuan Xiao and Yuhua Wang Abstract Ginsenosides generally have the physiological effect of anti-inflammatory immunity. After fermentation, the types of ginsenosides in ginseng change, and their physiological activity becomes a current concern. L.
