1 Introduction River sediment flux has significant implications for soil erosion within watersheds, the stability of river ecosystems, and delta evolution (Koppes & Montgomery, 2009; Li et al., 2018; Milliman et al., 2008; Qiu et al., 2024, 2025; Walling & Fang, 2003). In recent years, anthropogenic activities have substantially altered the hydrological conditions of river systems (Li et al., 2020; Milliman et al., 2008; Singh & Basu, 2022; Wang et al., 2020).
