Apolipoprotein A-IV deficiency rewires renal fibroblast states and intercellular communication during early obesity-associated chronic kidney disease
Abstract Obesity is a major risk factor for the development and progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Apolipoprotein A4 (Apoa4), a key regulator of lipid and glucose metabolism, also possesses immunomodulatory properties. This study aimed to investigate the role of Apoa4 in renal cellular populations during the early stages of obesity-associated CKD. Wild-type (WT) and Apoa4 knockout (KO) mice were fed a high-fat diet (HFD) to establish an early-stage obesity-associated CKD model.
Regulation of osteoclastogenesis and bone resorption by fatty acid metabolism: mechanisms and therapeutic opportunities
Abstract Bone remodeling is orchestrated by osteoclast-mediated resorption and osteoblast-mediated formation. Dysregulated hyperactivity of osteoclasts is a central driver of pathological bone loss in multiple osteolytic diseases, such as postmenopausal osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and peri-implant osteolysis.
The effect of perceived parental psychological control on adolescents’ depressive symptoms: the chain mediating role of parent–child conflict frequency and negative emotions
Abstract Background Previous studies have primarily examined the impact of parental psychological control on adolescent depressive symptoms from either family interaction or emotional perspectives, often considering these factors separately and overlooking their potential interplay. Aims This study examined how parent–child conflict frequency and negative emotions mediate parental psychological control’s effects on adolescent depressive symptoms, alongside parental gender differences.
