Introduction Lichen planus (LP) is a chronic inflammatory disease usually affecting the skin, mucosa, hair and nails. Nail lichen planus (NLP) is an important variant of LP, characterized by nail changes that often result in marked cosmetic and functional impairments. NLP can present either as isolated nail lesions or alongside mucocutaneous involvement.
