Metabolic-dimension CKM staging and cardiometabolic components predict incident MASLD: a longitudinal community-based cohort study
Abstract Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) shares metabolic pathways with cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome, but prospective community-based evidence linking CKM metabolic risk burden to incident MASLD remains limited. Methods: We analysed longitudinal health examination data from a community cohort in Guangxi, southern China.
Frontiers | Association between metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease and kidney stone risk in individuals with metabolic dysfunction: evidence from cross-sectional and cohort analyses
1 Introduction Kidney stones represent a prevalent urological condition worldwide, yet their etiology remains incompletely elucidated. The disease is characterized by a substantial risk of recurrence, rendering it a chronic relapsing disorder that places a persistent burden on patients and health systems alike (1). The prevalence has been estimated at 4%–6% in China, with a steady upward trend documented over the past three decades (2). Calcium oxalate stones constitute the predominant subtype (3).
