Lumbar puncture (LP) is routinely performed at diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) to assess central nervous system (CNS) involvement [1, 2]. Traumatic lumbar puncture (TLP) can lead to iatrogenic seeding of leukemia cells from the peripheral blood into the CNS, and subsequent LPs may be complicated if a hematoma or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage causes the thecal sac to collapse [3,4,5,6].
