Dear Editor, The publication on verum versus sham acupuncture for atopic dermatitis (AD) targeting both skin and gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms [1] is noteworthy. This single-centre, participant- and assessor-blinded, sham-controlled RCT demonstrates that standardised acupuncture significantly improves objective AD signs (SCORAD, EASI) compared to sham treatment, while also revealing substantial response heterogeneity.
