Digital scenes beneficial to mental health: how idyllic life presented by social media works and induces travel intentions

ABSTRACT Researchers have called for the exploration of digital scenes with healing functions, but relevant studies are still scarce. In this context, this paper explores the mechanism of idealised rural life scenes presented by social media through two successive qualitative studies. Study 1 used python for thematic clustering and obtained four types of affective experiences beneficial to psychological health including healing, relaxation, inspiration, and well-being.
