Unified Mesoscale Framework Bridging Equilibrium Thermodynamics and Transport Properties of Ionic Liquids and Their Mixtures
Ionic liquids (ILs) have emerged as sustainable alternatives to molecular solvents because of their unique physicochemical properties. Although quantum chemical simulations provide fundamental insights into their intermolecular interactions, constructing coarse-grained models that preserve equilibrium thermodynamics while quantitatively reproducing the prescribed transport properties remains challenging.
Beverage-based caffeine intake and high consumption trends among Korean adults, 2016–2024: a nationwide population-based study
Abstract Background: Caffeine is the most widely consumed psychoactive substance worldwide, yet nationally representative evidence on long-term consumption trends remains limited in Korea. This study aimed to evaluate temporal trends in beverage-derived caffeine intake among Korean adults between 2016 and 2024, identify major beverage sources, and examine demographic factors associated with high caffeine intake (≥400 mg/day).

Large Reasoning Models (LRMs) achieve strong performance on complex tasks but exhibit systematic inefficiency: they often overthink easy problems and underthink hard ones. Existing approaches based on uniform length penalties or rigid routing incur an efficiency tax, trading reduced computation on easy instances for accuracy loss on hard instances.
Characterization of a temperate bacteriophage vB_Eco_ppH1 induced from Escherichia coli ST131 lineage
Abstract Escherichia coli is a major commensal and opportunistic pathogen inhabiting the gastrointestinal tract of warm-blooded animals, including marine mammals. Among its lineages, sequence type 131 (ST131) is a globally disseminated high-risk clone associated with severe infections. Prophages are common in intestinal bacteria, and their induction has been hypothesized to influence bacterial population dynamics and gut homeostasis.

The hybrid intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) architecture is a novel technology that leverages the advantages of both passive and active IRS; the passive IRS offers a large aperture, while the active IRS provides additional power amplification.

Switching tumor-derived extracellular vesicles off and on via targeted proteolysis to shift toward immunogenic phenotypes
Abstract Despite compelling evidence that tumor-derived extracellular vesicles (TEVs) exhibit either pro- or antitumorigenic phenotypes, pharmacological efforts have focused primarily on their indiscriminate suppression. Here, we propose a strategy of “switching TEVs off and on” to redirect them toward an immunogenic phenotype.

Determinants of poor speech discrimination in a primary care otolaryngology population: a retrospective observational study
Study design and population This retrospective observational study included patients who underwent PTA and WRS testing at a primary care otolaryngology clinic between September 1, 2025, and January 20, 2026. Patients with complete audiometric data for both ears were eligible for inclusion. Individuals with missing PTA thresholds or unavailable WRS results were excluded from the analysis.

Frontiers | Declining insulin sensitivity is a key pathological contributor to dysglycemia: a longitudinal validation study in the Korean genome and epidemiology study
1 Introduction Failure of the compensatory mechanism of pancreatic beta-cells in response to decreased whole-body insulin action is generally accepted as the most common pathway to type 2 diabetes (T2D) (1–3). The failure of beta-cell function (BCF) and insulin resistance (IR, decreased insulin action), are two major risk factors for progression to T2D (4, 5). In persons with obesity, IR is a main driver of T2D progression and a common interventional target.

The DNA repair pathway as a therapeutic target to synergize with trastuzumab deruxtecan in HER2-targeted antibody-drug conjugate-resistant HER2-overexpressing breast cancer | Journal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research
Abstract Anti-HER2 therapies, including the HER2 antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) and trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd), have led to improved survival outcomes in patients with HER2-overexpressing (HER2+) metastatic breast cancer. However, intrinsic or acquired resistance to anti-HER2–based therapies remains a clinical challenge in these patients, as there is no standard of care following disease progression.

Brownian dynamics simulation on the parallel superposition rheology of a colloidal gel
Parallel superposition rheology has been explored using Brownian dynamics simulations on a model colloidal gel by imposing a small amplitude probing oscillation parallel to the main shear flow. This study aims to investigate the constituting principles behind the material functions in parallel superposition rheometry (PSR) and to elucidate the principles behind the structure responses.

1. Introduction The world is changing rapidly owing to the development of digital space, and millennials and Generation Z (hereinafter referred to as the ‘MZ generation’) are the most affected. The definition of the MZ generation varies among scholars; however, the millennial generation is generally considered to include individuals born between 1982 and 2000. Currently, they are aged 40 and below and make up a substantial portion of the healthcare workforce [1,2].
Synthesis and processing of two-dimensional nitride MXenes for electrocatalysis and energy storage
Summary Two-dimensional (2D) transition metal nitride MXenes have been explored as promising alternatives to the widely used titanium carbide MXene for electronic and energy systems because of their unique electrochemical and catalytic properties. However, scalable production of nitride MXenes has been limited by the intrinsically weak transition metal nitride bonding, which significantly deteriorates the quality of crystals and transport pathways, affecting tunable electrochemical properties.
