1. Introduction One of the most common categorizations of a DC–DC converter is based on whether the load is isolated from the input or not. Specifically, a DC–DC converter is categorized as an isolated topology if the load is isolated from the input. On the other hand, the converter is categorized as non-isolated if the load shares a common ground with the input or has a floating ground [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11]. Each topology has advantages/disadvantages, as summarized in the cited references.
