In their journey to strengthen their Final Four bid for, the DLSU Green Spikers were dealt another setback after succumbing to straight sets, 22-25, 23-25, 22-25, against rivals ADMU Blue Eagles in their UAAP Men’s Volleyball Tournament showdown earlier today, April 11, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre. Yoyong Mendoza boosted the La Salle offense as he led the team with a 13-point outing in the match, alongside Eugene Gloria and Chris Hernandez, who had 10 and eight points, respectively.

Coming off a victory in their previous outing, the DLSU Lady Batters were unable to sustain their momentum, bowing to the UP Fighting Maroons, 4-0, in their Round 1 matchup of the UAAP Season 88 Women’s Softball Tournament earlier today, March 3, at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium. Locked in a tight duel on the mound through the early innings, DLSU’s Laira Silverio and UP’s KC Valino kept both offenses in check before a late breakthrough swung the contest in favor of the Fighting Maroons.

For the past three seasons, the DLSU Green Spikers have lived on the edge of contention in the UAAP Men’s Volleyball Tournament, close enough to dream, but never quite to break through. Despite the Final Four appearances, the Taft-based squad has yet to finish the story they set in motion. Despite the departure of key seniors, a newly established Green Spikers seek to triumph in the UAAP Season 88.
