COVID-19 epidemiology public health STRENGTHS AND LIMITATIONS OF THIS STUDY An advantage of this study was the city-wide, population-based design, with a large sample size of over 620 000 children and teenagers. The study had a relatively high response rate of 86.25%. Devices used in the study supported real-time and automatic data upload and management, which showed a significant advantage in saving time and avoiding data entry errors.

Abstract Aims To assess the global burden and economic inequalities in the distribution of blindness and vision loss between 1990 and 2019. Methods A secondary analysis of the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries and Risk Factors Study (GBD) 2019. Data for disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) due to blindness and vision loss were extracted from the GBD 2019. Data for gross domestic product per capita were extracted from the World Bank database.
