Abstract To address the challenge of measuring the dynamic stress of engineering rock mass structures under blast loading, a rock mass dynamic stress measurement and calibration method based on Photonic Doppler Velocimetry (PDV) was developed. Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) loading tests were conducted under different wave impedance and coupling conditions to investigate the stress wave transmission effect and to verify the accuracy of the proposed measurement method.
