Imaging–Pathology Discordance During Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy for Pediatric Osteosarcoma
Assessment of response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in pediatric osteosarcoma remains challenging. While histologic tumor necrosis is a well-established prognostic factor, early radiologic evaluation using conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) does not always accurately reflect therapeutic efficacy [1, 2]. Apparent tumor enlargement or increased enhancement on MRI may be misinterpreted as disease progression, which can heavily influence surgical decision-making.
