What is already known? Apolipoprotein A4 (APOA4) is a well-known satiating protein. APOA4 elevates thermogenesis in brown adipose tissue (BAT) in chow-fed mice. A high-fat diet (HFD) desensitizes lipid-induced APOA4 production and BAT thermogenesis. What does this study add? Continuous infusion of APOA4 protein attenuated additional body weight gain, fat mass, and fat cell size and decreased plasma triglycerides in mice with HFD-induced obesity.
