Discussion While PKC/C1 domain activation is believed to play a role in the anticancer efficacy of TT, an in-depth understanding of its mechanism of action has remained elusive. Here, we show that in addition to activating PKC/C1 domain containing species, TT induces cell death directly at therapeutically relevant concentrations via a pyroptopic-based mechanism that is largely PKC-independent.
