Exogenous γ-aminobutyric acid mitigates physiological and transcriptomic responses of Prunus mongolica under combined alkali salt and cadmium stress
Abstract Introduction: Prunus mongolica is a relict xerophytic shrub important for desert ecosystem stability and vegetation restoration in arid regions. However, its adaptive mechanisms under combined alkali salt and cadmium stress remain unclear. This study investigated the regulatory role of exogenous γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in stress tolerance under single and combined stresses.
Estimating nutrient stoichiometry and cascading influences on plankton in thermokarst lakes on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau - Communications Earth & Environment
Abstract Thermokarst lakes play a critical role in global biogeochemistry. Here we delved into nutrient stoichiometry and its cascading effects on plankton communities across thermokarst lakes on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Our findings revealed significant variability in nutrient concentrations and stoichiometric ratios in both water and seston, indicating heterogeneous nature of thermokarst lakes. Phytoplankton communities were dominated by cyanobacteria.
Dyslexia is associated with urinary polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon metabolite concentrations of children from China: Data from the READ program
Section snippets Participant recruitment and sample collection The participants in this study were selected through Tongji Reading Environment and Dyslexia (READ) research (an ongoing program) (Liu et al., 2016). We selected primary schools that agreed to take part in our research from Wuhan, Hubei Province, Jining, Shandong Province, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, and Shihezi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
