Man dies after lightning strike in waters off Pasir Ris Beach

SINGAPORE – A man died after he was struck by lightning while paddleboarding in the waters off Pasir Ris Beach on July 5. Seven other people, aged between 13 and 54, were conscious when they were taken to the hospital, the police said early on July 6. They added that they were alerted to the incident at 131 Pasir Ris Road at about 4.50pm on July 5. “A 24-year-old man was conveyed unconscious to the hospital, where he subsequently passed away,” the police said.
