1 Introduction Pulmonary Mucormycosis (PM) is an invasive infection caused by fungi of the order Mucorales, with mortality rates as high as 50% to 80%. It is commonly seen in patients with diabetes, hematological malignancies, and those subjected to long-term immunosuppression (1). In recent years, the incidence of pulmonary mucormycosis in patients with diabetes has significantly increased, particularly among adolescents with poorly controlled blood glucose (HbA1c >8%).
