Abstract Haematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) represent a well-established system for studying stem cell maintenance. While RNA regulators have been reported in HSCs, a systematic characterization and how they define transcript fate remains outstanding. Here we profile RNA characteristics of HSC-essential genes and uncover a notable feature in both human and mouse: they have extended 3′ untranslated regions specifically enriched with AU-rich elements (AREs).

1 Introduction The Ross Sea slope is a critical region for water mass exchange, including the inflow of circumpolar deep water (CDW) and the outflow of dense shelf water (DSW) (Figure 1a), which play an important role in the physical (Chen et al., 2023; Mack et al., 2019) and biological (Smith et al., 2012, 2014) processes of the Ross Sea shelf region and in the global meridional overturning circulation (Gordon et al., 2015; Solodoch et al., 2022).

Abstract The rapid CO2 rise during the early deglaciation is often linked to enhanced ventilation by intensified Antarctic Bottom Water (AABW) overturning. The recorded radiocarbon ventilation seesaw during the early deglaciation, which describes improved Southern Ocean and reduced North Atlantic abyssal radiocarbon ventilation, has been interpreted as intensified AABW and reduced North Atlantic Deep Water convections.
