Molecular navigation strategy enables fibrillar self-assembly for efficient as-cast organic solar cells
Abstract Fibrillar networks formed during solution processing play a key role in the high performance of modern organic solar cells (OSCs). Yet their formation is intrinsically non-equilibrium and largely stochastic, leading to discontinuous domains and mismatched donor/acceptor interfaces that limit charge transport. Here, we show that the evolution of fibrillar networks can be guided through molecular design.
Kinetically templated fibrillar self-assembly via two-dimensional nanocrystals enables 21% efficient organic solar cells
Abstract The performance of organic solar cells (OSCs) is critically governed by the fibrillar organization of bulk-heterojunction active layers, yet controlling long-range, directional fibrillar morphology under nonequilibrium processing remains challenging. Here we report that two-dimensional cobalt phosphosulfide (CoPS3) nanocrystals act as kinetic templates that reprogram molecular self-assembly during film formation.

The effect of the third component on high performance ternary organic solar cells: A review
1 INTRODUCTION With the continuous development of the world economy, the traditional fossil fuels can no longer meet the industry's demand for energy.
Morphology evolution via solvent optimization enables all-polymer solar cells with improved efficiency and reduced voltage loss
Morphology evolution via solvent optimization enables all-polymer solar cells with improved efficiency and reduced voltage loss The progress of all-polymer solar cells (all-PSCs) is often accompanied with morphology evolution of the active layer. However, the regulation of the morphology of the active layer often encounters obstacles, mainly because of the undesired miscibility between the polymer donor and acceptor in the active layer.
Constructing a new polymer acceptor enabled non-halogenated solvent-processed all-polymer solar cells with efficiency of 13.8%
Constructing a new polymer acceptor enabled non-halogenated solvent-processed all-polymer solar cells with efficiency of 13.8% Lei Ying, Chunguang Zhu, Zhenye Li, Wenkai Zhong, Feng Peng, Zhaomiyi Zeng, Fei Huang and Yong Cao Abstract A new polymer acceptor, PS1, was developed by connecting the non-fullerene acceptor building block of dithienothiophen[3,2-b]pyrrolobenzotriazole capped with 3-(dicyanomethylidene)-indan-1-one through a thiophene spacer.
Design and Synthesis of Non-Fullerene Acceptors Based on Quinoxalineimide Moiety as the Central Building Block for Organic Solar Cells
Design and Synthesis of Non-Fullerene Acceptors Based on Quinoxalineimide Moiety as the Central Building Block for Organic Solar Cells Two new non-fullerene acceptors, namely QIP-4F and QIP-4Cl, contain a novel imide-functionalized quinoxaline (QI) moiety fused with thienylthiophene unit as the central building block, and fluorinated or chlorinated 2-(3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-ylidene)malononitrile as end-capping groups, were designed and synthesized, respectively.

Optimization of processing solvent and film morphology to achieve efficient non-fullerene polymer solar cells processed in the air Polymer solar cells with remarkable power conversion efficiency and processability have been widely reported, however, most devices are processed using halogenated solvents under inert atmosphere and requires post-treatment to achieve optimal film morphology.

Overcoming Morphological and Efficiency Limit in All-Polymer Solar Cells by Designing Conjugated Random Copolymers Containing Naphtho[1,2-c:5,6-c’]bis([1,2,5]thiadiazole)] Moiety
The ternary concept based on two electron donors and one electron acceptor is deployed to extend the absorption as well as photovoltaic performance of all-polymer solar cells (all-PSCs). However, it remains challenging to achieve delicate morphology of ternary blended bulk-heterojunction films through rational molecular design.
