Chidamide induces ROS-driven ZAKα-dependent ribotoxic stress in endometrial cancer and enhances radiosensitivity in vitro and in vivo
Abstract Chidamide is a selective histone deacetylase inhibitor with antitumor activity in several malignancies, but its mechanism of action in endometrial cancer (EC) remains poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the cytotoxic effects and underlying mechanism of chidamide in EC using cell lines, patient-derived organoids (PDOs), cell-derived xenograft (CDX) models, and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models.
Intermolecular interactions optimization in weakly solvating ether solvents for wide-temperature Na metal batteries
Abstract The development of wide-temperature-range batteries is essential for applications under extreme weather conditions and scientific endeavors such as deep-sea and space exploration. Sodium (Na) metal batteries offer the advantage of weak ion–solvent interactions, which promote easier desolvation at low temperatures compared with lithium batteries.

Predicting pro-environmental behavioral intention using interpretable machine learning
Abstract This study employs machine learning techniques to investigate the determinants of pro-environmental behavioral intention (PEBI) using the survey data from the 2021 wave of the Chinese General Social Survey (CGSS). By comparing the predictive performance of nine prevalent machine learning algorithms, the results show that the Random Forest model achieves the highest predictive accuracy in predicting PEBI.

Attracting Top Talent: Analyzing Local Policies in China With Economists' CV Data
Top high-skilled professionals, such as academics, teachers, doctors, and engineers, play a critical role in driving localized innovation and economic growth. Although extensive research exists on international talent mobility, there is limited evidence on their intranational movement. This study closely analyses a large-scale talent-attraction policy implemented in Chinese cities to relocate top high-skilled workers.

Finite Element Simulation and Piezoelectric Sensor Array-Driven Two-Stage Impact Location on Composite Structures
1. Introduction Composite materials, especially laminated carbon fiber-reinforced plastics (CFRPs), exhibit superior mechanical performance due to their significantly higher specific stiffness and strength properties [1]. Although composite structures offer many advantages, their inspection and monitoring of barely visible impact damage (BVID) becomes more challenging. Impact damage on composite structures can occur from various low-velocity impacts, such as dropped tools.

Sub‐Acromioclavicular Decompression Increases the Risk of Postoperative Shoulder Stiffness after Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair
Introduction Rotator cuff tear is the prevalent shoulder disorder that leads to shoulder dysfunction and pain experience for many patients.1, 2 Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair is a widely used treatment option for this condition due to its rapid recovery of shoulder function and the ability to quickly return to normal activities.3-5 Despite its benefits over other therapies, numerous studies have reported the postoperative complications, such as postoperative shoulder stiffness (POSS),...

Quantum switch for itinerant microwave single photons with superconducting quantum circuits
A classical switch or router determines which of several inputs to the device passes through the output. In analogy, a quantum switch that coherently links the input to a superposition of several outputs plays an important role in quantum information processing, especially when operating at the fundamental limit where a single photon can be controlled.
Photon-Noise-Tolerant Dispersive Readout of a Superconducting Qubit Using a Nonlinear Purcell Filter
Popular Summary Near-perfect qubit readout is essential for performing error correction on a quantum computer. Researchers working on superconducting qubits have been improving the speed and accuracy of the readout by making the qubit interact more and more strongly with a microwave pulse. However, this has also made the qubit more and more sensitive to noise coming from the same waveguide as the pulse, limiting the coherence time of the qubit.

Treatment of Asymptomatic Bacteriuria after Kidney Transplantation: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
2. Methods This systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted in accordance with the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) statement and the guidelines of the Cochrane Handbook of Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses of Interventions [18,19]. The International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO) has assigned the number CRD42023451064 to our systematic review procedure.
Antimicrobial management strategies of kidney transplants
Introduction Kidney transplantation is the most effective treatment for individuals with end-stage renal disease.1 Deceased donors in China have increased rapidly since January 2015 because civilian organ donation has been the sole source of organ transplant.2 Marginal donors have increasingly been accepted for transplantation due to the significant disparity between the supply and demand of organs.3 However, most donors experience multiple invasive procedures, use of high-intensity...

An ultra-high gain single-photon transistor in the microwave regime - Nature Communications
Abstract A photonic transistor that can switch or amplify an optical signal with a single gate photon requires strong non-linear interaction at the single-photon level. Circuit quantum electrodynamics provides great flexibility to generate such an interaction, and thus could serve as an effective platform to realize a high-performance single-photon transistor. Here we demonstrate such a photonic transistor in the microwave regime.
