Complex Genomic Rearrangements Involving ETV6::ABL1 Gene Fusion in an Individual with Myeloid Neoplasm

1. Introduction ETV6::ABL1 gene fusion is a rare but recurrent genomic rearrangement that has been reported in various hematologic neoplasms, including myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), frequently with eosinophilia [1,2,3,4,5,6]. An in-frame ETV6::ABL1 gene fusion cannot be formed by a simple chromosome translocation due to the opposite orientations of ETV6 and ABL1 on their host chromosomes 12 and 9, respectively.
