Interview

Have you ever used a typewriter?

My great grandmother let me use her typewriter when I was little to write stories. Most were gibberish, but I loved the sound of the keys.

How is social media changing news?

The world is literally at your fingertips, both the good and the bad. It's important to check multiple sources and create your own opinion.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Peter Parker, with the heart of a journalist and the freedom of a freelancer, has always been my favorite.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Having an open mind, bringing awareness to both the good and the bad, and starting critical conversations are all part of being a journalist.

Why did you become a journalist?

My heart has always been writing, and video games are near and dear. The opportunity to combine both led me to TheGamer as a Staff Writer.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Getting to attend the Lorcana Chicago Challenge and write about the positive experience with the community was a highlight of my career.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

I'll be crocheting a new project or working on my novel, whether that's sketching the characters or curating a playlist to listen to.
