1 Introduction Excessive iron availability (EIA), as well as other heavy metals, in several coastal areas along the Red Sea is gaining more attention in the last decades since it becomes a flagrant issue [1-4]. In this context, an interesting study was focused on iron input and cycling in the Red Sea and showed that there was a strong ocean surface enrichment of iron [1].
