1 Introduction Cancer patients are vulnerable to a wide range of infections, with heightened susceptibility to bacterial and fungal pathogens due to the adverse effect of cytotoxic chemotherapy on host defense mechanisms [1]. Systemic fungal infections continue to pose a significant threat, resulting in elevated rates of mortality and morbidity in cancer patients. Chemotherapy or transplant procedures are often delayed in such patients, which may affect their overall survival [2].
