What was your first job as a journalist?

In 7th grade, I was part of my middle school’s weekly newsletter team. My very first article covered the **Dauphin Island Beach Cleanup Event**, and I remember feeling proud that something I wrote helped spotlight people doing good in our community. It was the moment I realized that writing could connect people — and I’ve been chasing that feeling ever since.

How is social media changing news?

Social media has made news more immediate, more personal, and more overwhelming — all at once. It gives everyday people a voice and allows real-time updates, but it also blurs the line between credible information and viral opinion. For content creators like me, it’s a tool to meet readers where they are, but it also means we have to work harder to cut through the noise with content that’s genuinely helpful and trustworthy.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To me, being a journalist means being a trusted voice — someone who helps people navigate their everyday lives by sharing stories, ideas, and resources that matter. It’s about curating useful information, asking the right questions, and always putting the audience first. As the founder of 3Boysandadog.com, I approach journalism from a lifestyle and family-first perspective. Whether I’m reviewing educational resources, testing family travel gear, or compiling gift guides for busy moms, my goal is to serve as both a filter and a guide. Being a journalist isn’t just about breaking news — it's about delivering clarity, value, and connection through trustworthy content.
