Letter to the Editor: Let us now refute silently
Written by A. S. Gordon. On Wednesday the 5th of November, I once again found myself beholding the spectacle of the so-called evangelist Matt Bourgault: an older man, clean-shaven, clad in work pants and a sweat-stained shirt the color of jealousy. As usual, he had with him his trademark sign, bearing in garish block letters a laundry list of those supposedly damned to hell.

GOAL: Gordon thumps Newcastle in front
After a frantic start to Premier League matchday 38, Newcastle were the next to get on the scoresheet, putting the Magpies ahead of Chelsea. After early goals for Tottenham and Aston Villa, Newcastle were the next to get on the scoresheet to add to the madness on PL matchday 38. The Magpies were away to Chelsea, with Newcastle getting the first of the tie. After being fed through across the face of goal, Anthony Gordon made no mistake and slotted home from close range.
Risk–Benefit Analysis of Novel Treatments for Patients with Generalized Myasthenia Gravis - Advances in Therapy
Abstract This study used network meta-analysis (NMA) to inform and compare the number needed to treat (NNT), number needed to harm (NNH), and cost per improved outcome (CPIO) associated with more recently approved treatments for anti-acetylcholine receptor antibody-positive (anti-AChR Ab+) generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG).

Newcastle coach Howe weighing up Gordon role against Everton
Gordon, 22, left Goodison Park for Newcastle in the January transfer window, for a fee that could rise to £45 million, with his move from his native city of Liverpool sparking an angry response among some Everton fans. The winger has had to wait for his chances at St James' Park and was clearly frustrated when substituted at Brentford earlier this month, having started just two games for his new club.

Newcastle on Sunday announced the signing of Everton forward Anthony Gordon. Defender Kieran Trippier posted a video on social media welcoming him to the team. However, the two players are fighting in the video and the defender tries to make fun of the situation to iron out the differences. Newcastle on Sunday announced the signing of Everton striker Anthony Gordon. The striker has signed a long-term deal with Howe's side and will soon be playing at St James Park.

Newcastle on Sunday announced the signing of Everton forward Anthony Gordon on a long-term deal for a fee that could reportedly rise to £45 million. The 21-year-old winger is the first arrival of the January transfer window at St James' Park. "Since I heard of the interest, I was always convinced Newcastle were for me," Gordon told 'NUFC TV'.
Newcastle not after Gordon anymore; Chelsea take the lead
Newcastle enquired to Everton about Anthony Gordon, but now the Magpies have withdrawn their offer. It is now Chelsea who are the ones said to be interested in getting the English forward. Anthony Gordon is one of Everton's best players. That is why certain Premier League clubs are thought to be interested in the forward this January and to have enquired about him. One of those sides was Newcastle, who are having a great campaign and are currently third in the table, behind City and Arsenal.
Newcastle asked Everton for Gordon
Newcastle are still interested in Everton's young striker Anthony Gordon. Howe's side have asked the London club without making an offer for the 21-year-old. Newcastle are not forgetting about Everton striker Anthony Gordon. For that reason, Howe's side have asked Everton about his situation in the January transfer window. According to 'The Telegraph', they asked Everton about the situation of their young striker. However, they did not receive any answer about Gordon's transfer.
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with intermediate stage disease (BCLC B) are allocated liver-directed therapy (LDT), but there is increasing application of systemic therapies in this space. There is a concern that LDTs negatively impact liver function and prevent patients from receiving potential benefit of systemic therapies when they advance. Here, we aim to assess liver function trends in BCLC B patients undergoing radioembolization (Y-90).
Tumor size impacts patient eligibility for surgical interventions, staging, and locoregional approaches to treatment. The purpose of this study was to evaluate tumor size as a prognosticator for long-term overall survival (OS) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients treated with yttrium-90 radioembolization (Y-90). The hypothesis was tumor size would stratify long-term OS after Y-90.
Yttrium-90 (Y-90) radioembolization is a liver-directed treatment option for patients with neuroendocrine tumor liver metastases (NELMs), but there are concerns of long-term hepatotoxicity. Radiation segmentectomy (RS) has been described in hepatocellular carcinoma, selectively delivering tumor-ablative radiation doses in a parenchymal-sparing approach. We hypothesize that RS of NELMs can achieve considerable locoregional disease control with a positive safety profile.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of radiation segmentectomy (RS) for locally advanced, unresectable intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). Our hypothesis was Y-90 with ablative doses and relative liver parenchyma sparing would provide high local disease control with a tolerable safety profile.
Abstract No. 229 Does spontaneous portosystemic shunt embolization improve liver transplantation outcomes? A propensity-score matched analysis
Patients with large spontaneous portosystemic shunts (SPSS) are theoretically at risk for post liver transplant (LT) portal vein thrombosis (PVT) due to reduced hepatopetal flow. The purpose of this study was to evaluate changes in portal venous velocity from SPSS embolization with TIPS, and to compare post-LT outcomes in patients with vs without embolization ± TIPS for large SPSS.

Abstract No. 8 Yttrium-90 radioembolization in unresectable intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma: a 17-year single-institution study
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety, efficacy, and survival following radioembolization (Y90) for unresectable intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). Our hypothesis was Y90 would provide high antitumor response with a tolerable safety profile.
Abstract No. 71 Outcomes of segmental Yttrium-90 radioembolization in oligometastatic secondary hepatic malignancies
Yttrium-90 (Y90) radioembolization has historically been applied in a lobar fashion when treating patients with metastatic disease to the liver due to the multifocal presentation of these patients. We hypothesize that segmental Y90 delivery, routinely used to treat HCC, can be safely and effectively utilized to treat oligometastatic secondary hepatic malignancies.
Exploring rehabilitation potential in older people living with frailty: a qualitative focus group study
Abstract Background Rehabilitation interventions are frequently cited as key in supporting frail older people’s recovery following periods of decompensation and acute ill-health. Clinicians are required to make decisions about a patient’s potential to respond to rehabilitation. ‘Rehabilitation potential’ decisions can determine access to services. In acute settings clinicians have limited time to assess and work with patients, families and carers.

Disparities exist between the dietary intake of Indigenous Australian women during pregnancy and the Australian dietary guidelines: the Gomeroi gaaynggal study - Lee - - Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics - Wiley Online Library
Little is known about the adequacy of nutrient intakes and the overall diet quality of Indigenous Australian pregnant women. The aim of this cross‐sectional study was to assess nutrient sufficiency and diet quality, as measured using the Australian Recommended Food Score (ARFS), in pregnant women from the Gomeroi gaaynggal cohort (n = 58).
Climatic influences on southern Makassar Strait salinity over the past century
The Indonesian Throughflow (ITF) is a globally important ocean current that fuels heat and buoyancy fluxes throughout the Indo-Pacific and is known to co-vary in strength with the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) at interannual timescales. A climate system with a less well-quantified impact on the ITF is the East Asian Winter Monsoon (EAWM), which drives less saline surface waters from the South China Sea (SCS) into the Makassar Strait, obstructing surface ITF flow.
Rural habitat as risk factor for hepatitis E virus seroconversion in HIV-infected patients: A prospective longitudinal study
Our objective was to determine the incidence and clinical manifestations of acute hepatitis E virus (HEV) in HIV-infected patients. A prospective longitudinal study including HIV-infected HEV-seronegative patients was conducted; HEV seroconversion (to IgG and/or IgM) was the main outcome variable. All patients were tested for HEV antibodies every 3–6 months.
Pain expectations in neuropathic pain: Is it best to be optimistic?
Pain expectancy may be an important variable that has been found to influence the effectiveness of treatments for pain. Much of the literature supports a self-fulfilment perspective where expectations for pain relief predict the actual pain experienced. However, in conditions such as neuropathic pain (NeP) where pain relief is difficult to attain, expectations for pain relief could be unrealistic.

Henschel’s report1of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in Brahms is, amazingly enough, not the first or best OSA description in a musician. Indeed Glinka’s2 1840 observation (Fig 1) seems to be the earliest account of OSA anywhere. There are striking similarities—a humorous account of OSA in good musicians by a fellow touring musician after, no doubt, drinking sessions.
50 Years After the Voting Rights Act, Equal Access to the Ballot Box Is Still in Peril
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Voting Rights Act. The anniversary follows the release of Ava DuVernay’s film Selma, which documents the movement that gave birth to the VRA. In scene after scene, the film reminds us just how vehemently whites openly opposed equal voting rights for all. Today, however, thanks to the work of Martin Luther King Jr. and other civil rights advocates, laws are on the books guaranteeing equal access to the ballot box, regardless of skin color.
