The WIKY team was honored to accept the National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation “Service to America” award at a ceremony on June 9th in Washington D.C. The award was given in recognition of WIKY’s annual free Veterans Day breakfast. Attending the ceremony were WIKY General Manager Tim Huelsing, Morning Show Host Dennis Jon Bailey, Operations Manager Aaron Santini, and Midwest Communications Company President Peter Tanz.

If you live in Evansville and notice a change in the smell or taste of your water, don’t worry. It’s the annual disinfectant switch. Evansville Water & Sewer Utility says it helps maintain the pipes and water quality in the area. The switch starts today and continues through June 29th.

Narrowing the field in Kentucky where voters will be going to the polls tomorrow for a primary election. Lots of local raced on the ballot as well as statewide races including the race for the U.S. Senate seat held by Republican Mitch McConnell who first took office in 1985. Democratic front runner Amy McGrath is  hoping to do something that hasn’t happened in the Commonwealth in the 21st century, and that’s win the race in the general election in November.
