1 Introduction Adolescence is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the age between 10 and 19 years [1]. Adolescence is a critical period during which most adolescents initiate sexual activities [2-4] and start to explore their identities [5]. Appropriate support and guidance from parents are important at this stage to help adolescents navigate the physical, emotional, and cognitive changes they experience more effectively.

This term is routinely used in public health to address diversity, to guide equitable access to health resources, and inform inclusive policies and programs.
