Jimmy Hutto joined me today, Friday, November 21, for Community Connection and told his story about what it's been like to care for his mother, Lois, who is 90 years young. Jimmy said he wasn't planning on becoming his mother's caregiver — it just happened. He moved her to Colorado about 10 years ago after his father and brother died, and he had to learn how to live with his mom after 40+ years.

For the past 25 years, the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts has been a jazz incubator here in Colorado inspiring the next generation of musicians. The CCJA connects young players with community leaders like Eric Gunnison, Annie Booth, Greg Gisbert, and more to learn the craft and fall in love with the art form.

Vail Jazz is more than the Labor Day Jazz Party, with international stars playing at venues around the ski town. Throughout the school year, vocalist Kathy Morrow and drummer Larry Dutmer take their show on the road to schools around Eagle County to teach the basics of jazz to fourth—and fifth-graders.
