(KFOR) — A large grass fire sparked in southeast Norman Wednesday evening, prompting homeowners to act fast as the flames were just feet away from their homes. “We’ve lived here for probably 18-19 years. This is a first,” said Connie Oubre, a neighbor. Brush and trees quickly turning into a wall of flames as a grass fire sparks in Norman. “So the call came in around a little after four o’clock, by a resident saying it was about a hundred feet behind their home,” said Oubre.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A woman tied to one of the most horrific crime sprees in Oklahoma is closer to parole. The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board narrowly recommended parole for Verna Stafford. In a three-to-two vote, the board recommended parole for Verna Stafford. She’s serving time for the 1978 Sirloin Stockade murders. Her husband, Roger, was executed for the crime in 1995.
