Abigail Seldin’s Biography

Abigail Seldin is CEO of the Seldin/Haring-Smith Foundation (SHSF), which focuses on access to public services and accountability for abuse of authority. Under her leadership, SHSF broke the story on sex trafficking in higher education on the front-page of USAToday, launched a partnership with Getty Images to create new stock photos of today’s college students, and published new data on transit inaccessibility that has generated bipartisan legislation. SHSF’s grant-making portfolio has generated new statistics about food insecurity among student-parents, a toolkit to bring HeadStart sites to campus, and guidance for addressing racial bias in financial aid offices.

Abigail's experience outside philanthropy includes co-founding and selling a tech start-up, studying at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, and parenting two small children.
