Abstract Sharks often modify their behaviour to obtain food from humans. Food provisioning can lead to behavioural conditioning, which can alter resource use patterns and interactions within and between species. We used acoustic telemetry and dietary biomarkers (fatty acids and stable isotopes) to quantify dusky (Carcharhinus obscurus; n = 18) and Galapagos (C. galapagensis; n = 16) shark associations with fishing piers at Norfolk Island, Australia between 2021 and 2024.

1 Introduction Understanding patterns of connectivity across species' ranges is fundamental to informing the management of biodiversity (Hirschfeld et al. 2021; Hohenlohe et al. 2021). Specifically, understanding the spatial boundaries of populations is critical fort estimating local population sizes and demographic structure (Clark et al. 2024), identifying key habitats for protection (Carr et al. 2017), and predicting the potential spatial reach of disturbance events (Whiterod et al. 2016).

1 INTRODUCTION Stomach content analysis (SCA) is a fundamental technique for studying the feeding ecology of fish (Amundsen & Sánchez-Hernández, 2019; Hyslop, 1980). It is traditionally performed by euthanizing an animal to dissect its stomach and represents a snapshot of the overall diet (Baker et al., 2024).
