The top 10 quick-service restaurant apps in the U.S. were downloaded 13.1 million times in April, 22 percent more than those the month prior. Year-over-year in the month of April, downloads of the top 36 quick-service restaurant apps are up 26.4 percent. A download represents a new user and the first conversion on the mobile app customer’s journey. From February to March, the Dairy Queen app grew downloads 193 percent and from March to April it grew an astonishing 974 percent.

Despite concerns about data privacy and security, several Chinese apps have continued to gain a significant following, with millions of Americans using them on a daily basis. But just how pervasive are Chinese apps in the United States? Out of the 500 most downloaded apps so far in 2023, only 10 are from Chinese companies. However, four of them are in the top five. These apps are almost household names at this point; Temu, TikTok, CapCut and Shein.
