(WIS) - Remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur bring showers and storms to the Midlands, with the heaviest rain coming in the early morning hours Friday. wis First Alert Headlines: First Alert Weather Day: Thunderstorms this afternoon/evening. First Alert Summary: We’ve seen some storms pop up this afternoon with rain and thunder possible throughout the evening hours.

Tropical Storm Arthur continues to hug the Texas coast and will bring heavy rains and breezy winds to portions of the deep south. The 5 PM advisory has maximum sustained winds at 45 MPH as Arthur continues to move northeastward. On this forecast track, Arthur should move farther inland over southeastern Texas and southwestern Louisiana through tonight and weaken as it does so. wis wis There are several tropical storm warnings for the Texas and Louisiana coasts.

The first forecast track from the National Hurricane Center has it briefly strengthening to a tropical storm early Wednesday has it emerges back over the Gulf. From there, it is forecast to weaken as it tracks inland over Louisiana and Mississippi towards Wednesday night-Thursday.
