(Gray News) - Remains found nearly 50 years ago in North Carolina have been identified as a missing 15-year-old girl, according to authorities. Cindy Marcell Blizzard has been identified as the person whose remains and clothing were found on Dec. 29, 1977, in a wooded area near the Firestone plant in Wilson, according to a press release. Authorities said Blizzard had run away from her home in Monkton, Maryland, in the spring of that year.

Andrews announced that her campaign has accepted FOX Carolina’s invitation to a live, televised debate, but claims her opponent is unwilling to debate.

(WIS) - The Cayce Police Department announced the arrest of a man after a fatal hit-and-run collision in late August. According to police, the Aug. 23 crash resulted in the death of Cayce resident Janyne Renee Mbeng. Cayce Police say officers traveling on Frink Street found Mrs. Mbeng lying in the roadway after she had been struck by a vehicle.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Wednesday that oil prices that have surged because of the Iran war likely won’t come down until after U.S. midterm elections. Oil prices jumped more than 3% today, pushing international Brent crude past the $100 threshold for the first time since July as salvos between the U.S. and Iran escalated. “Right after the election, oil prices are going to be tumbling downward,” Trump said.

SURPRISE, Ariz. (KPHO/Gray News) — An Arizona mother is recovering after fighting off a coyote that began attacking her 4-year-old daughter over the weekend. Brittany Cardinal said the attack happened during what started as a Sunday afternoon of kite flying with her daughter in her neighborhood. “We had gone outside because it was windy. And my daughter’s like, ‘Oh, let’s fly a kite,’” Cardinal said. The mother said she then heard her daughter scream and turned around to see a coyote nipping at her.

(InvestigateTV) — The number of data-compromise notices sent to consumers has already surpassed last year’s total, according to a new report from the Identity Theft Resource Center. James Lee, president of the Identity Theft Resource Center, known as ITRC, said the increase reflects a real rise in data breaches, not just better detection. “What we’re actually seeing, we believe, is an actual increase in the number of data breaches,” Lee said.

Nesconset, NY (InvestigateTV) — Tom Wilson, a former NYPD sergeant, was investigating a burglary in Brooklyn on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, when the first plane hit the World Trade Center. “I remember the radio all of a sudden a lot of chatter on it. And uh, I said to the elderly couple, ‘I’ll come back later. I’m gonna go shut down the Williamsburg bridge,’” Wilson said. He raced to the bridge. The images of that day are still vivid.
