Wine has maintained a steady market share among alcoholic beverages since 2000 and continues to generate significant value for consumers and the broader economy. In addition to standard business taxes, the wine industry is burdened with specific excise taxes: the total amount of consumption taxes paid for wine in 2025 is estimated to be $7.2 billion.
