July 2, 2026, 5:28 p.m. CT Police are investigating a death at a central Lubbock home after a woman's body was found early Thursday afternoon following what was reported as a suicide. The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit is conducting the death investigation after officers were initially called at 1:40 p.m. for a report of a suicide at a home in the 2000 block of 45th Street, according to a statement from Lubbock police. Responding officers discovered a deceased female inside the home.
