Officers responded to a Walmart location at 9:39 p.m. on July 25, 2026, after receiving a report of an assault that took place in the parking lot, according to a news release.
E. coli and Salmonella outbreak linked to alfalfa sprouts triggers recall
(CNN) - An outbreak of E. coli and Salmonella has led to the recall of alfalfa sprouts. The company Everything Sprouts is recalling certain lots of its alfalfa sprouts after they were linked to the multistate outbreak. The FDA and CDC said at least 55 people in 15 states, including Florida, Minnesota, North Carolina and Wisconsin, have gotten sick. Four people were hospitalized. No deaths have been reported. Everything Sprouts said it is working with the FDA and CDC in its investigation.

74-year-old man in wheelchair hit, killed by pickup truck while using crosswalk
VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV/Gray News) - A 74-year-old man in Washington died after being hit by a pickup truck Tuesday night. At about 7:45 p.m., officers responded to South Andresen Road and MacArthur Boulevard for reports of a crash involving a pedestrian, according to the Vancouver Police Department. Police said a driver in a pickup truck had stopped at the stop sign and was proceeding through the intersection when he hit a man in a wheelchair who had entered the crosswalk.
Baby born at 12.5 ounces graduates NICU after 375 days in the hospital
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV/Gray News) - A Wisconsin baby born nearly four months early who weighed 12.5 ounces at birth is now home after 375 days in the NICU. Raelynn Kubiske was born at 23 weeks and six days’ gestation on July 18, 2025. Doctors at UW Health in Madison say she is the smallest surviving baby by weight ever to graduate from their NICU. Raelynn’s parents, Aubree Winnekens and Aaron Kubiske, said Raelynn’s eyes were still fused shut and her skin was see-through when she was born.
1 dead after Mexico-bound tour bus catches fire
INDUSTRY, Calif. (KCAL/KCBS) - One person is dead, and another is injured after a tour bus caught fire in Southern California. The fire occurred on the eastbound 60 Freeway near the city of Industry early Friday morning. The California Highway Patrol said the bus driver had pulled over after he saw the check engine light was on. He told officers he noticed smoke in the back of the vehicle. The driver then had all the passengers evacuate as quickly as possible as a fire engulfed the vehicle.

10-foot python found slithering around neighborhood sidewalk
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF/Gray News) - A driver spotted a 10-foot python in a South Carolina neighborhood Monday night. Tracy Stout said she was driving home around 9 p.m. when she saw something in the road. “When I first saw it, I was like, ‘was that a snake?’ Because I’ve seen plenty of snakes around here, but nothing like that, so that’s why I pulled a U-turn because it was big; he was huge,” Stout said. Stout did not know if it was someone’s pet, so she called a snake wrangler.
